We went to the zoo yesterday. Never again, NEVER AGAIN I say! I love the zoo - but I will NEVER again go on half price Wednesday on the week of Spring Break! What were we thinking?!?!? Crystal called me up at 10:30 the night before asking me to go. I didn't think about the madness that was brewing.
Here is the breakdown:
11:00 am - leave the house head to Chick-Fil-A, good lunch, Abigale gets a National Wildlife Fed Board Book (how fitting) and everything is good to go :)
11:45/12:00 - leave to go to zoo, which is approx 30 min away.
12:30 SIT on highway
1:00 SIT on highway
1:15 ish - almost to zoo - joke that all the people on highway are going to zoo (little do I know...) and take an exit early hoping to bypass traffic
1:25 figure out my "shortcut" and are now waiting in LINE to turn onto the ROAD that leads to the zoo! MADNESS!
2:15 finally PARK
2:45/3:00 after waiting in line, we finally buy our tickets and actually enter the zoo.
AMAZINGLY the girls did pretty well with all that waiting - but the zoo was packed, people were everywhere - sigh - we did get to see a baby giraffe and 4 baby lion cubs - so that helped.
I held a paperbag crop tonight - teaching how to create an album using lunch sacks. It was a big relief to finish up - I get so nervous preparing for these big teaching crops - it's hard to teach without the visual aids or showing them!
